Day 1: Arrival in Chennai – Heritage & Temple Walk

Begin with a visit to Kapaleeshwarar Temple, an iconic example of Dravidian architecture, followed by Santhome Cathedral, a historic Christian landmark. Day 2: Chennai to Tiruvannamalai (via Mahabalipuram)
Drive along the scenic East Coast Road, stopping at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Mahabalipuram to see the magnificent Shore Temple and Arjuna’s Penance rock carving. Continue to Tiruvannamalai, a revered Shaivite town nestled at the base of Arunachala Hill. In the evening, witness Girivalam (circumambulation) or attend darshan at the grand Arunachaleswarar Temple, considered one of the Pancha Bhoota Lingas. Day 3: Tiruvannamalai to Thanjavur

Day 4: Thanjavur to Rameshwaram

Day 5: Rameshwaram to Madurai
Optional early morning ocean dip or temple rituals before leaving Rameshwaram. Drive to Madurai, one of India’s oldest living cities, often referred to as the “Athens of the East.” In the evening, witness the grandeur of Meenakshi Amman Temple during the vibrant aarti ceremony, a mesmerizing spectacle of lamps, chants, and devotion. Day 6: Madurai to Thekkady or Munnar (Choose Nature or Wildlife)
Depending on preference, guests can choose between:
Option A – Thekkady: Visit a spice plantation for an aromatic tour, enjoy an evening Kathakali dance or Kalaripayattu martial art show, and opt for a guided jungle safari in Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.
Option B – Munnar: Explore lush tea estates, visit Echo Point and Top Station for scenic views, and take a peaceful guided nature walk amidst rolling green hills.
Both routes offer immersive experiences in Kerala’s natural beauty.

Day 7: Thekkady/Munnar to Alleppey (Backwaters)
Drive to Alleppey or Kumarakom, the gateway to Kerala’s famous backwaters. Board a traditional houseboat and cruise through the serene canals, observing daily village life, lush paddy fields, and coconut groves along the waterways. Freshly prepared onboard meals highlight Kerala flavors, while the setting sun paints the waters golden. This tranquil experience is one of the highlights of South India, offering complete relaxation.

Day 8: Departure from Kochi
Disembark from the houseboat and drive to Kochi. Time permitting, explore Fort Kochi, visiting the Chinese fishing nets, Jewish Synagogue, and Dutch Palace. Stroll through quaint colonial streets filled with art cafés and antique shops. Later, transfer to Kochi Airport (or Bengaluru, if preferred) for your onward journey, carrying home spiritual and cultural memories from South India.
